Treasurer’s report

Available funds: 
Bank: $883.49






New Shared Pathway account: $1861
A retrospective motion needed: That the BCA Inc open a new bank account specifically to hold funds donated for the Shared Pathway. Moved: Derek Anderson. Seconded: Robyn Coates. Carried unanimously.
People expressed disappointment that the community contribution to the Broulee Skate Park was not being acknowledged by Council in its media releases. Agreed to alert Council to this situation and ask for public acknowledgement of same.
Shared pathways
Report on donations of in-kind support offered including labour, materials and morning tea for workers and volunteers.
Barbara Roberts: reported on major funding soon to be available from Australian Government for cycleways. Suggested we should prepare Council to be ready to apply for funds for Moruya to North Head project. Agreed that we should alert Council to this opportunity and distinguish it from the Heath St project.
Report to meeting on Council’s Draft Management Plan and the inclusion therein of significant funds for the Heath St shared pathway extension. Also reports on progress with liaising with Council officers to bring this about.
The meeting showed its appreciation of the work done thus far by the BCA Inc Exec in progressing the issue of the Heath St shared pathway by a round of applause.
If Council’s special rate variation is approved, plans for the shared pathway from Heath St to the surf club will be publicly displayed and open for comments as per the usual DA process.
The first shared pathway raffle for the framed photograph of Broulee Island donated by John Hicks was drawn by John himself and Robyn Coats in full style (suit coat & bowtie for John, spangles and long gloves for Robyn!). The lucky winner was Peter Louttit who was present to accept his prize.
The second raffle of a bicycle worth $540 kindly donated by Moruya Bicycles was announced.
Dunecare Report
Funding for extra planting of 200 plants at the Surf Club has been granted. Meet at the Broulee SSLSC at 9.30am on Weds 24th June to join in. Bring a thermos of hot water and morning tea will be supplied.
Otherwise Dunecare still meets on the 4th Sunday of the month at 3pm at the Community Noticeboard.
Report from the floor that the burnt dune bordered by Bayside Street and Harbour Drive has also attracted some extra funding for clearing and planting.
Other business
John Hicks reported on the generous rebates currently available for the bulk buying and installation of solar PV (photo-voltaic) cells for electricity generation in the home. Contacts and options were given.
Announcement: A meeting will be held in Council Chambers on the 2nd June for the local Indian Myna Eradication program. Peter Louttit has volunteered to be our Broulee rep. As such he will be trained on the euthanasing of caught birds. Courtney Fink from Council is the main contact person.
Discussion on Council’s new draft LEP (Local Environment Plan). Noted that it was available in full at local libraries and that the time for comments has been extended.
Next meeting is our annual BBQ (6.00pm) and AGM (7.00pm) on 24th September at Broulee Primary School. Jo Fafie announced that she will step down from the President’s position which she has held for the past two years and encouraged others to nominate. All positions will be declared vacant and anyone can nominate.
